Rock Paraibano em Creative Commons
A banda de rock Molestrike abrilhantou o III ENSOL por duas vezes. Na primeira, fez uma apresentação que embalou os participantes do evento. Na segunda, liberou sua obra sob Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5, permitindo que seu som seja apreciado de forma livre. Esta é mais uma conquista do Encontro de Software Livre da Paraíba.
"Liberar as músicas do Molestrike sob a CC é um passo ousado, mas necessário. Entendemos que o conhecimento é livre, mas queremos manter nossa autoria sem desrespeitar o direito inalienável de compartilhamento e reutilização" comenta Pedro Dantas, guitarrista da banda.
Apesar do objetivo principal dos eventos de Software Livre ser a disseminação dos programas de computador que seguem os preceitos definidos por Richard Stallman, há o contágio sobre as discussões de mídia livre, imprensa livre e cultura livre. A discussão sobre a relação entre os artistas e os meios de distribuição e vendas dos trabalhos não é nova, mas a internet a tem intensificado. Isto porque meios livres de distribuição não agradam aos detentores das redes de distribuição.
"Libertar os artistas dos grilhões das gravadoras também faz parte dos objetivos da comunidade software livre. Entendemos que utilizar o ambiente livre proporcionado pela internet, que usa Software Livre, para disseminar a obra de um artista trás consigo os benefícios de torna-lá conhecida mais rapidamente, mas também tem embutida a responsabilidade de retribuir à sociedade, permitindo que a obra seja utilizada livremente sem propósitos comerciais."
